Ari Pekka Liukkonen (Pieksämäki)
The way to the world’s elite has been long one for AP. He carves his own path in life and is keen observer of life itself. At the same time he’s a pioneer – in training and in life. He is a role model for many aspiring young Finnish and internationl swimmers. His aim is set to a medal in Rio. This is something he works relentlessly on daily basis.
AP excels in many disciplines. The best of Finland have felt the heat and have been beaten in medley, breast stroke and even fly. In freestlyle sprints he has reigned for years. He has short course 4th in European champs and has a bronze in medley relay. On the world stage semis and finals are only a stroke away.
